Our Religious Education program is intended for the religious formation of our parish children attending public schools in First through Eighth Grade. Our dedicated staff of professional teachers and catechists is devoted to helping the children of our parish become fully initiated into our community of Catholic faith. They also direct and organize the sacraments of First Reconciliation, First Communion, and Confirmation for both our catechetical program and our parish School.

All of our programs are approved by the diocese and are aimed towards leading the children to fulfillment in God through Christ and Church. The mission of our Christ-centered catechetical program is to teach each child the richness of our Catholic faith tradition so that they not only learn what it means to be Catholic, but are also transformed through an experience of Jesus as their friend, shepherd and Savior. Through our Catholic school and Religious Education Program ministry, we can offer our children a thorough initiation into our Catholic way of life.

If you have additional questions regarding registration, tuition, or anything administrative, please contact Vickie Thome (thome@iccowboys.net).

If you have questions about curriculum, please contact Julie Szwedo (szwedo@iccowboys.net).

Classes commenced on Wednesday, September 14th and will conclude on Wednesday, May 10th. For the 2022-2023 School Year, we have adopted a hybrid format with classes primarily meeting in-person on a weekly basis on Wednesdays from 4:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. in our School. All grade levels will also meet virtually via Zoom Video Conferencing for Religious Education Class on certain dates. (Exact Dates TBD)

Immaculate Conception Sacramental Readiness Policy

For greater details, please consult our Religious Education Handbook, Section III.

Children in our program will be evaluated on their readiness to receive the sacrament. Readiness is defined by the regular practice of their faith, presence to the community, and knowledge of the sacrament they are going to receive.

We, as ministers of the Church, will determine based on attendance, quality of work, and participation in community and worship if your child is ready for the sacrament. Simply being in 2nd or 8th grade is no longer sufficient to receive the Sacrament.
