FAMILY FAITH FORMATION AT IMMACULATE CONCEPTION PARISH

Research overwhelmingly indicates that family catechesis is the most effective form of faith formation for children and youth. Children who participate in faith formation programs which also engage parents are significantly more likely to continue practicing the faith into adulthood and to find a supportive social network through Catholic communities.

We are making it a priority to engage parents in our faith formation process. We also understand that parents may be unfamiliar or uncomfortable with this approach to catechesis. We want to help you through it! 

By participating in this process, you impact your child’s development more than you know. In addition, your engagement shows your child that you consider faith a priority and makes it clear that you are an adult they can comfortably talk to about religion.

FAMILY MASS

Family Mass is offered twice per month (with a couple of exceptions for holidays) at both our 8:30 A.M. & 10:30 A.M. Sunday Masses. At Family Mass we offer Children’s Liturgy of the Word, which is an opportunity for children aged three to 10 to hear the Word of God at their own level during Mass. Children are dismissed with adult leaders before the First Reading to hear God's Word from the Children's Lectionary. The children are led through prayers, readings, and discussions that are adapted to their level of understanding. This program is led by trained catechists and allows the children to ask questions and fully participate in God’s Word. Children return to the congregation after the Homily and participate in the rest of the Mass with their family.

Classes began on Wednesday, September 16th and will conclude on Wednesday, May 5th. For the 2026-2027 School Year, classes will meet in-person on a weekly basis on Wednesdays from 4:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. in our School. 

Immaculate Conception Sacramental Readiness Policy

For greater details, please consult our Religious Education Handbook, Section III.

Children in our program will be evaluated on their readiness to receive the sacrament. Readiness is defined by the regular practice of their faith, presence to the community, and knowledge of the sacrament they are going to receive.

We, as ministers of the Church, will determine based on attendance, quality of work, and participation in community and worship if your child is ready for the sacrament. Simply being in 2nd or 8th grade is no longer sufficient to receive the Sacrament.

Religious Education Program Tuition For 2026-27 School Year

Please note: all tuition payments will only be accepted via Give Central. We will no longer accept cash or checks.

Tuition fee includes all books and class materials and instruction by IC School Teachers.

One student per family (Grades 1-7): $400

One student (Grade 8) (classes end on Wednesday, December 9th): $200 (plus Confirmation fee of $50)

Tuition increases by $150 per additional child

Confirmation fee (Grade 8): $50

Communion fee (Grade 2): $50

Registration fee (for first time families only): $50

Late fee (after September 17th): additional $100

Annual tuition payment due by: Wednesday, September 16, 2026 (First Day of Class)
